My life and experience with horses has been episodic but fascination and love for them constant.  My introduction and ultimate love of horses started as a four-year old at my grandfather’s farm in Indiana where he owned and boarded a number of beautiful Quarter Horses, a donkey and my white little pony named Mister.    Sadly, my grandparents sold the farm several years later, and my exposure and experience with horses was put on hold until my college years.  There I spent some time with Hunter-Jumpers at Purdue University.  Life again took over during my graduate studies and ensuing career, and horses were absent from my life until 2011, when my career brought me to the wonderful horse community in Colorado and I gifted myself dressage lessons with Frances Carbonnel and her amazing horses.    This is where the equine addiction grew, and I developed a wonderful network and many friendships within this amazing horse community.  And, along came Western Dressage!  I have been a proud WDAA and WDACO member from the start.

In 2014 I was honored to ride Frances Carbonnel’s amazing Jubilee Banjo to a first-place win at WDAA’s World Championship show in Oklahoma.  I have continued my study of classical dressage and practice of Western Dressage while also dabbling in Working Equitation and simultaneously focusing on my career.

In 2017 I purchased “Mr. D” (Derroche Roy), my grey PRE Andalusion, and in 2022 I purchased Whiskey, a 4-year old alleged Andalusion/Gypsey Vanner mix.  My plan for both horses is to enjoy WDACO events, some working equitation and enjoy the trails with Whiskey.

To keep my mind active and my horses healthy, I am studying the Masterson Method of equine tension release, and I am diving into the physiology and biomechanics of horses.   My goal is to provide the very best life possible for my horses!

I recently retired from my long-time career as an Executive in Human Resources, and I am devoting a substantial portion of my new free time to my two horses, my two dogs and my amazing husband Patrick.
