Fix A Test: Tips from the Judge

Julie Haugen, USEF R WD Judge, WDAA World Champion and trainer, will be the clinician for this exciting new take on our previous pre-show clinics.  Participants will get to see Test movements performed by demonstration rider/horse teams and hear judge’s comments in real time. 

The day will be divided into two sessions. The morning will include Level 1 riders and above.  The Afternoon will be for Introductory and Basic level riders.  Each half day session will begin with Julie’s presentation of the levels with their specific movements and requirements. She will identify the challenges on which riders typically lose points and where they can earn extra points.  The demonstration horse and rider will be used to clarify where and how the points are typically lost or earned.
Each rider will have the opportunity to ride a test and receive feedback on their ride plus requirements that are most often challenging. Afterwards, the team will ride the test again, integrating the feedback and increasing their understanding of each.

Clinic Schedule: 9 AM – 5 PM
Morning:  Level 1 and above riders
Afternoon: Introductory and Basic Level Riders
Specific ride times will be provided after registration has closed.

Fix-A-Test Registration

Complete the WDACO entry form below and submit by August 6.

• A horse may only be ridden once during the clinic.
• Participants may ride multiple times on different horses.
• Submit one form per horse/rider combination

Proof of current vaccinations must be sent via the Vaccinations link. Out-of-state horses require a 30-day health certificate and a negative Coggins issued within the last 12 months.  Make sure to read and sign the waivers on the entry form.

Auditors: Non-Members and Members

We welcome everyone interested in Western Dressage or other equine sports to participate in this clinic as a rider or an auditor. This unusual event will increase everyone’s understanding of the sport and the nuances of riding at each level. Please submit this form if you are auditing, even if you are a member. Type or print your name in the Auditor box and submit either on-line or by mail. There is no cost for WDACO members. The auditor cost for non-members is $20.
